Mosaic Church, Cadyville NY

We add varnish to things that we want to preserve, things of value. But varnish can present two problems: 1) over time it can mask the beauty of the art beneath, 2) improperly applied, it can fundamentally alter what it was designed to protect. Religion can often do the same thing to Jesus. In an effort to protect something of the greatest value, sometimes it dims the beauty it was designed to protect.

Unvarnished Jesus aims to lovingly strip away the varnish to reveal the beauty of Jesus: his life, teaching, miracles, and mission.
