Prodigals, Week 3- The Prodigal CHURCH

Prodigals is a series focused on all of us who have been wayward- whether you have run away from God, are a long-time stalwart, or somewhere in between. 

Week 3 considers another unlikely prodigal: the prodigal CHURCH. Ssomewhere along the way the church has lost itself. But I’m not just talking about a phenomenon of churches today. I’m talking about churches over the last hundred years. Somewhere along the way, we have decided that church is about us. We have become proud, impatient, and full of conflict. The result is a church that is failing to fulfill the Great Commission. 

The call of the Father to his prodigal church is to come home, to become defined as a people who are full of love and hope, who are gentle and humble, who are patient, and who are peacemakers. It's time for the church to reconcile and to be the people God has called us to be!
